About 30% of greenhouse gas emissions are from agriculture.
One third of food produced globally are wasted each year, which is equivalent to 1.3 billion tons, and food waste global cost is $1,000,000,000,000 per year, $2,740,000,000 per day, $114,000,000 per hour, $1,888,000 per minute and $31,700 per second.
This results in waste of food produced/purchased, waste of money and release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, causing climate change.
Therefore, we convert these food waste and other agro/organic wastes to organic products like mushroom from postharvest waste (rice straw), compost, fertilizers and pesticides from food waste.
Rice straw is gotten from rice farmers and used in the production of mushroom, preventing them from being burnt and greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere.
Food waste is used to produce black soldier fly larva which is used to replace fish meal in feed production or fed directly to poultry birds and fish.
Food waste can be used to produce compost, fertilizer and pesticides.
